Bronze Star

February 1944 the Bronze Star was established by President Roosevelt. Awarded to armed force members for distinguishing themselves by Heroic or Meritorious service (Not involving aerial flight enemy engagement).

The “V” device (Combat Distinguished Device) for heroism against an armed enemy.
