WWII Victory Medal

By Congressional Act in July 1945, awarded to all members of the armed forces who served at least one day of federal active service between 7 December 1941 through 31 December 1946.

The obverse is a figure of Liberation standing full length with head turned looking to the dawn of a new day, right foot resting on a war god’s helmet with the hilt of a broken sword.

Reverse inscribed “Freedom from Fear and Want, Freedom of Speech and Religion”.
